Over the next few weeks our students will be involved in both legs of the French exchange and the outward leg of the German exchange. The school is very appreciative of the considerable commitment of teachers to these exchanges.
This weekend we welcome the students and staff from Rennes-Pacé in Brittany. The programme for the week is as follows:
Sunday : Arrival in Rosslare 2.30p.m./ Family afternoon and evening.
Monday : 8.50 a.m. breakfast and principal’s welcome for French students only / 9.31-10.12 a.m. “Talking Heads” activity for French and Irish pen pals / 10.30 a.m. walk to Heritage Park for guided tour and lunch with pen pals / 4.00 p.m. return to school.
Tuesday : 9.00 a.m. trip to Dublin via Glendalough, lunch and walk around Temple Bar / Visit of Trinity / 7.00 p.m. return to school. (French students only).
Wednesday : 8.50 – 10.53 a.m. in class with students / 11.00 a.m. New Ross for guided tour of Dunbrody Famine Ship / 3.30 p.m. return to school. (French and Irish students).
Thursday : 9.00 a.m. Kilkenny-guided tour of castle at 11.30 a.m. followed by lunch and walk around town / 3.30p.m. return to school. (French students only).
Friday : 8.50 a.m. to 1.11 p.m. in class with students / walk to town for lunch and “Treasure Hunt” / 3.30 p.m. return to school.
Saturday : Depart Rosslare at 4.30 p.m. (Families should be there at 2.30 p.m.)

Today marks the closing date for the receipt of applications for the position of Deputy Principal. It is expected that the Board of Management will be in a position to announce the outcome of the appointment competition by mid-May.

Advance civil works continue at the site of our new school at Pembroke Hill. This week sees the fitting of kerbs for the new entrance road and roundabout. The aerial photograph above gives a good idea of progress to date. The actual construction of the new building is due to start in early June.
