6th year Fundraiser

Last Sunday, 26 April, Cliona Power, Kayleigh Murphy, Michelle Carty and Isabel O’Connor organised a fundraiser for the ‘Do it for Dan’ campaign. Dan is a little boy in Laois who was diagnosed with a rare genetic neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 and Scoliosis. Dan needed 2million dollars to get special treatment in the U.S to help prolong his life expectancy.

The four Loreto 6th years decided that they wanted to help so they asked their peers in 6th year to walk/run/cycle a certain distance and donate a sum equivalent to the number of kilometres that they travelled to the campaign. Altogether they raised €320!
