School Improvement Plan, 2016 – 2020
The Board of Management has formally approved the School Improvement Plan (SIP), 2016 – 2020.
Work on this plan started last May and was led primarily by a steering committee of nine teachers working closely with Mr. O’ Shea (Principal). Surveys and focus group discussions were held involving staff, students and parents. The draft plan was then considered by the School Planning Group before being passed to the Board of Management.
The SIP has, as its main focus, a range of measures to enhance teaching and learning in the school. To this end, the measures are grouped under four headings:
- Learner outcomes
- Learner experiences
- Teachers’ individual practice
- Teachers’ collective/collaborative practice
A number of measures will be addressed in each of the four years of the plan so that by summer 2020 the plan will have been implemented in full.
