Transition Year:  

A busy Transition Year programme commenced this week with the TY surfing trip in Tramore. Over the course of two days, the students took on the waves in their joint PE/Gaeilge trip. Well done to all for their participation in this new activity.  

Sporting Updates:  

  • Congratulations to TY student Lea Bolger on her participation in the schools’ international hammer throw over the summer. Lea finished eighth overall.  
  • We also congratulate Julie Barrett (2nd year) on winning the bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the Irish National Championships in Limerick in July.  
  • With the new school year up and running, various teams have started their training again. We thank all members of staff for contributing their time voluntarily to each activity.  
  • Walking Wednesdays have now started. Organised by Ms. Browne, this a is a brisk walk around Min Ryan Park at lunchtime.  

Congratulations to Ayda in fifth year who was chosen as a finalist in the search for A New Local Hero by South East Radio for Irish Music Month promoting Irish Music and supporting Irish Music artists on radio supported by Hot Press and IBI.

Brief Points:  

  • TY student will attend a Retreat Day in Our Lady’s Island next Friday, 13 September. We thank Ms. L. Jordan and the RE Department for organising.
  • Our Parents Association AGM will take place on Monday the 16th of September in the school from 19:00-20:30.
