DescriptionJoin our school’s Traditional Music Group and celebrate Irish music and culture. Open to all ability levels. Sheet music will be provided in advance so we can practise before we come together to play as a group. Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, this is a relaxed, enjoyable space to share music and develop your skills.

DescriptionBoth Irish Debating and English Public Speaking are open to both junior and senior cycle students. We will prepare and practice speechwriting, public speaking skills and teamwork to help become better at speaking in public.
WhenIrish Debating meets weekly from late September to Easter to practice for the Comortas Díospóireachta an Phiarsaigh, run by Gael Linn. Various public speaking competitions will be advertised during the year, and Mr. Cornejo will meet with students sporadically as they arise.

DescriptionJoin our vibrant school’s Game Club for an exciting array of games like Connect Four, Scrabble, Pictionary, Dobble, and Chess. Run with enthusiasm by our Transition Year students, this club provides a fun and engaging environment for young gamers to socialize, strategize, and have a blast.

DescriptionWeekly lunchtime meetings. We run awareness campaigns over the course of the year and organise iniatives such as ‘The Book Swap Shop’ to encourage recycling.

DescriptionOpen to students from all year groups. We run Stand Up Week in term one and Multicultural Week in term two and an awareness campaign of students’ choice in the last term. We also incorporate the Schools of Sanctuary group.
WhenWe meet around once a month (maybe more, maybe less depending on when there are events coming up) at 3.10pm on Wednesdays in St Kevin’s.

DescriptionThere are two book clubs running in school; 2nd Year Book Club and Transition Year Book Club. Titles are chosen on a rotational basis by students and teacher.
When Members meet up every 4 – 6 weeks in the Library at lunch to discuss their thoughts and ideas on each title.

DescriptionLoreto will be the first girls’ school in Wexford to launch an Interact Club. It consists of a committee of elected TY students and club members. They will work on an international and national campaign, working in conjunction with Wexford Rotarian, Michael Brand. They will meet every second week on Tuesday lunch time, with a lunch hosted by Wexford Rotary at the end of the year.

DescriptionWe have 8 teams in the school currently. We have 3 x 1st Yr =, 2 x 2nd Yr, 1 x 3rd Yr, and 2 Senior teams, Inter A and Senior B, all competing in the South East Schools Leagues and Cups. We have won the Inter A Cup for the past 2 years and reached the Minor Cup Final last year.
Training times Seniors and 3rd Years are Mondays or Wednesdays each week after school.
1st Years are on Tuesdays after school.
2nd Years on Thursdays after school.

DescriptionWe have the following teams: 1st year, u14 (1st and 2nd year), Junior (u16) and Senior (u19). We compete in the ‘A’ grade in Leinster camogie and have been in finals in recent years. We were Leinster Senior A Champions in 2019, a first A title for our school. Usually we have a first year blitz in term one before Christmas with the camogie season starting in Jan.
Training times Training takes place after school on our full-size GAA pitch, juniors train Tuesdays, with seniors on Thursdays. Training also varies depending on scheduling of upcoming matches.

DescriptionThe school competes in four different age groups every academic year; 1st Year, U14, U16 & Senior (U20). Across all age groups, the school traditionally competes in the Leinster Post-Primary Schools ‘A’ grade and occasionally in the ‘B’ or ‘C’ grade. We regularly compete in Leinster semi-finals and finals in all grades. Past-honours include a Senior Leinster ‘A’ grade championship in 2013. Loreto also reached the final of the inaugural 1st Year Wexford competition in 2024 as well in 2025. We are the current under-14 South Leinster ‘C’ Champions. We also won the Wexford LGFA TY Competition in 2024.

DescriptionSoccer is relatively new to the school having started in 2023-2024. The school competes in four different age categories every year; Senior, Minor, Junior and 1st Year. Last year our Senior Soccer Team won the South East Leinster Final and progressed to the Leinster Division 1 Final. Loreto narrowly lost out to St. Leo’s Carlow but it was an amazing achievement to to be the 2nd best team in Leinster in the 2024-2025 season. Our 1st Year team won the South East Leinster Division 2 Final and also won the Leinster Division 2 Final. Our Minor and Junior teams also reached their respective regional finals. Previous achievements include Senior Girls Leinster Division 3 Champions & several regional titles across Minor & Junior age groups.
Training times Training takes place after school with matches taking place during school hours. Training usually takes place on Wednesdays but can vary depending on the scheduling of matches.

DescriptionSouth Leinster league success with minor team. U19,U16 and both 1st and 2nd Year teams.
Training times Training takes place after school on our amazing indoor court. Juniors and Seniors at the begining of the school year while 1st and 2nd years begin just before Xmas.

DescriptionTeams – Novice & Open. Compete at regional and national league shows. Equestrian Interschools Ireland Novice League Champions in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

DescriptionRugby is new to our school, and we were crowned All-Ireland Senior 7’s champions in 2023. We won the first ever Leinster Senior Womens School Cup (15s) in 2024. Lots of our players play club rugby locally and it’s a growing sport in school.We won the inaugural Leinster Girls Senior Cup in 2024, a massive occasion in Energia Park Donnybrook. We also won the All Ireland X7’s in 2023. There is also 7 a side and 10 a side blitzes throughout the year.

DescriptionBadminton is the fastest racket sport in the world. Badminton can be enjoyed socially or competitively. Badminton commences in Autumn and finishes in the Spring.

DescriptionGAA Handball is growing sport in Loreto Wexford. Handball was first introduced in the school in the 2023/24 academic year. The school competes in Leinster GAA post-primary competitions, including; 1st Year, Under 16 and Under 19. Loreto had an Under 16 player competing on Leinster finals days in 2023/24, our first year entered in competition. In 2024, Loreto won the Leinster 1st Year Girls’ Doubles competition.
Training times Training takes place in players’ own clubs at their own time.

DescriptionThe Strength & Conditioning Club is an after-school programme designed to help senior students build strength, improve fitness, and enhance sports performance. Sessions focus on safe training techniques, Injury prevention, endurance and fitness in a fun group environment. The club runs in conjunction with other sports and is every Monday after school in the school gym under the guidance of Ms. Byrne.
