Summer Examinations 

As we approach the end of the school year, all 1st, 2nd and 5th year students are asked to note carefully their examination schedules, available on the website under the ‘Calendar’ tab.  

Sports Updates:  

  • Congratulations to all our athletes who competed in the South Leinster Track and Field competition in Carlow recently. Well done to Cara Kelly, Maria Coone and Jelena Mc Namara for bringing home gold and silver medals.  

  • Separately, we also congratulate our senior athletes on securing the trophy for best school. Lily Murray was second in the javelin, Jelena Mc Namara was third in the senior 800 m, Cara Kelly was first in the senior 400m with Aoife Walsh third in the intermediate 800m. Finally, Maria Coone was second in the senior 3000m with the relay team coming second also. We extend our thanks to Mr. Roche and Ms. O’ Keeffe for accompanying the athletes.  

  • Well done to the Loreto students who represented Wexford in their U16 Leinster shield victory over Offaly recently.  

Success for Florence Donohue (TY): 

We congratulate Florence Donohue on reaching the final of the Grainne O’Neill Essay competition. Florence attended the awards ceremony as the President’s Hall in the Law Society of Ireland on 30 April.

Success for Hannah Roche (3rd Year):  

Congratulations is extended to Hannah Roche following her success in the Young Economist of Year 2024 competition. Hannah was placed third based on her research project entitled ‘The lack of funding towards Additional Educational Needs for children and young adults’. We thank Mr. Grace for his involvement in the competition.

Loreto were beaten in the Leinster semi-final today against Presentation Kilkenny yesterday with a score of 3 – 1. Polly Redmond scored our goal with a penalty.
Thanks to the girls for a fantastic year, our first season involved in soccer with the school.
