The Cara System was officially launched this week when the ten prefects in 4th year were each assigned twelve 2nd year students to get to know and to assist in any way should the need arise. It is hoped that this system will be a continuation of the pastoral support that is offered to students in 1st year by means of the Meitheal System. Mr. O’ Shea will monitor the Cara System and will check in regularly with the prefects to see what, if any, issues are arising.

The school is planning a range of events to mark its 150th anniversary in September 2016. The proposed schedule is set out below. Members of the school community are invited to make any observations on this schedule to Mr. O’ Shea before Tuesday, 8 March 2016.

Our Deputy Principal, Sr. Carmel, this week announced her intention to retire at the end of the current school year. This announcement came just weeks after the same message was conveyed by Ms. Bee Mc Donald, Maths teacher and the school’s first lay principal.
