By Haya Al Kasem

In the tapestry of humanity, we weave

threads of every hue, shade, and creed,

Each strand unique, yet intertwined,

A mosaic of diversity, beautifully designed.

But amidst this richness, shadows loom,

The spectre of prejudice, casting gloom,

Dividing us by skin and race,

Ignoring the beauty in each face.

Yet, let us rise, hand in hand,

Embracing the differences that make us grand,

For in our hearts, we share a dream,

Of a world where all are seen and esteemed.

Let love be our guide, compassion our creed,

As we march together, planting the seed

of understanding, empathy, and grace,

Erasing the lines that divide our space.

For in unity, we find our strength,

In diversity, our greatest wealth,

So let us stand, bold and true,

And paint the world in colours anew.

Let hatred fade and prejudice cease,

As we embrace the beauty of our human race,

For in the end, it’s unity we seek,

In the kaleidoscope of colours, we find peace.

Being a HijabiBy Hanin Al Kasem

In a world where colours unite, a hijabi stands shining bright,

My hijab is a crown of dignity, defying stereotypes with humility,

I fight against the racism tide, with passion and love as my guide,

In my hijab I find power, a symbol of identity blooming like a flower,

Through the ups and downs, it stood with me strong, a shield against judgment where I belong,

It taught me resilience; to stand tall and be true, to embrace my uniqueness in all that I do,

It’s a symbol of diversity, of cultures intertwined, a celebration of differences, beautifully aligned,

Through moments of doubts and moments of pride, my hijab became my companion by my side,

for in its uniqueness lies a world of grace, a reflection of my beauty in every single space.
