U – 16 Camogie Success

After a resilient display to come from behind in the semi-final on Tuesday, all roads lead to the Centre of Excellence in Fenagh, Co. Carlow this Saturday, 21 January for the Junior ‘A’ Camogie Final against Loreto, Kilkenny. It is a tremendous achievement to get this far, and we wish the panel the best of luck tomorrow. We invite all Loreto families to come and support our students and their mentors, Mr. Crowdle, Mr. Goff and Ms. Kelly.

Health Sector Careers Evening

On Thursday, 12 January, the school hosted its first ever Health Sector Careers Evening. This event, organised by Dr. Mark Grannell (Surgeon, Wexford General Hospital) allowed students from all over Wexford to speak to various personnel from different sectors of the health system. After an initial welcome by Dr. Grannell, attendees split into groups to visit the various rooms. Students had the opportunity to speak to interns, paediatricians, obstetricians, radiologists, anaesthetists, nurses and midwives. This gave those present a great sense of a potential career path in the health system. We express a sincere thank you to Dr. Grannell and his colleagues for volunteering their time on this important initiative.

Cross Country

Congratulations to all our athletes who represented the school in Adamstown on Wednesday. In the midst of many individual successes (noted on Twitter), the school also took home the overall team prize. Thanks to Mr. O’ Sullivan, Ms. Shannon and Ms. O’ Keeffe for accompanying the group.

Junk Kouture

After weeks of preparation, the TY Junk Kouture class, under the guidance of Ms. S. Byrne and Ms. Howlin, have showcased their designs. The competition, which challenges students to create outfits using recycled materials, has been a great success in the school this year. We congratulate all on their superb designs.
