School Mass
Yesterday the school body gathered for the first time this year in Clonard Church for the beginning of the school year mass. The theme of the ceremony was “Kindness”. Both Molly Donoghue and Maria Coone our Head Girls spoke about acts of kindness, no matter how small, can have a ripple effect, inspiring others to follow suit and contributing to a culture of generosity and positivity. Highlighting that in a world often marked by challenges and negativity, practicing kindness not only enhances our own well-being but also strengthens relationships and builds connections, reminding us of our shared humanity.
A massive thank you to all those involved in the music and planning of the service.

Football
Our Transition Year football team began the school’s defence of the Wexford LGFA Post-Primary Schools TY Competition title yesterday.
Unfortunately, the girls came up against a very strong FCJ Bunclody team and lost out in the end.
The girls now enter the competition’s shield semi-final stages. Hard luck girls!

First Year Retreat
1.5 enjoyed a wonderful retreat on Tuesday at the Parable Garden where they learned about the importance of friendship, kindness and staying true to themselves. They took part in a relaxing forest walk, explored the Loreto values and had lots of fun. A big thank you to the Meitheal Leaders for organising such engaging games!

German Exchange
On Monday we wrapped up another hugely successful Irish leg of our long-standing exchange with St. Ursula’s in Villingen-Schwenningen.
It’s been a fantastic week co-hosting 34 wonderful students alongside CBS Secondary School, Wexford. Thank you all for the memories and laughter!
Auf Wiedersehen – until February, when we meet again for the return leg!

Senior Football
Our Senior football team began their Leinster championship on Monday with an away game against a very strong Gorey Community School. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way but the girls battled hard for the entire contest.
Next up for the girls in Round 2 is St. Mary’s Arklow at home in a fortnight’s time. Hard luck girls!

Equestrian
Well done to Loreto Wexford novice teams picking up first and second place in the first leg of the EII on Sunday in Wexford Equestrian. Special mention to individually placed riders, Mary Kate who won her class, Judy who placed third, and Hannah Rose who placed third and fifth in her classes. A fantastic start to the year. Well done to all.
