A Higher Love

On Friday, 10 May our Transition Year (TY) students are performing a play in the Dún Mhuire Theatre which has been written and directed by TY student, Muirinn Carty.

Muirinn wrote this play while in 3rd year and it will be performed with the aid of 4 students from the CBS and a student from St Peter’s College.  The group have been working very hard on this for the last 5 months.

Tickets are on sale in Loreto at lunchtimes in the GP area – students €6 and adults €10. The play starts at 8pm.

Please support the TY students in this wonderful play.

Equestrian News – report by Ms. Martin

The school’s open equestrian team have qualified for the Balmoral show in Co.Antrim on Saturday, 18 May. We are one of only 5 schools to have qualified and will be up against  schools from the North.

This is a truly great achievement for the girls involved – Maebh Byrne, Eimear Jackman, Ciara Banville and Taylor Peare.

Both novice and open teams have qualified for Hickstead in England which takes place in July – more details to follow.

Bishop Denis Brennan to visit 6th year students

Bishop Denis will pay his annual visit to the school on Tuesday, 7 May at 11.00 to address the soon-to-depart 6th year students. His well-chosen words of wisdom are always keenly awaited. He will be accompanied on his visit by our chaplain, Fr. Jim Fegan.
