Senior B Leinster schools football – Report by Ciara Banville

The Senior B footballers played a talented Gorey side on Friday, 1 December 2017. Loreto’s Ashling Alouf was first to raise the white flag closely followed by Anna Mulligan and two Eve Hession points but Gorey soon found the drive they needed to get ahead scoring 2-5 before the half time whistle.

Gorey fired on in the second half finding the net straight away, while the Loreto subs that were introduced were trying their best to defend the goal. Hession made some fabulous solo runs adding four more points in this half but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to match the opponents who were finishing the ball with style. Alouf and Mulligan rattled the net in the final minutes but it wasn’t to be for Loreto as Gorey took control and finished the match on a score line of 9-6 to 2-8.
