Students’ Council Report – by Beth Powell (5th year student)

This year International Day of Happiness fell on Tuesday, 20 March. To mark this event, the Students’ Council organised a party held at lunchtime in the Concert Hall that was open to all students. Party hats, party bags and smiley-face stickers were given out to those who attended. Seeing as free food always goes down a treat, there were lots of cakes and sweets to be enjoyed. Numerous games of Pass-the-Parcel were played with winners receiving chocolate or, if they were lucky, a tiara! The party was concluded by trying (and eventually succeeding) to burst open a unicorn pinãta full of Starbursts. A great time was had by all who attended and the event certainly left a smile on everyone’s face.

French Exchange

We welcome the students and teachers from Rennes-Pacé in Brittany who will visit the school next week. A full range of activities, both within the school and including trips to the Heritage Park, Kilkenny, New Ross and Dublin, has been organised by our French Department. We hope the week is enjoyable for all concerned and we are most appreciative of the considerable work put into all aspects of the exchange by the French teachers in both schools.
