Child Protection
The Board of Management completed its annual review of the Child Protection Statement at its meeting on Monday, 11 February 2019.
Copies of this Statement and of the associated risk assessment are placed in the foyer and can be viewed on the school website under the Child Protection tab.
The Board confirmed Billy O’ Shea as Designated Liaison Person and Chris O’ Reilly as Deputy Designated Liaison Person for child protection matters in the school.
School Surveys
The School Planning Group is conducting a review of the School Improvement Plan 2016-2020 at present. Within the last week, the views of parents and staff have been sought and by Friday, 1 March 2019 all 780 students will have been surveyed.
The results of the surveys will be published in the coming weeks as well as details of the resultant action plan.
Senior Camogie
The season came to an end last Saturday when our senior camogie players were defeated by two points by Ursuline, Waterford in a tightly-contested All Ireland semi-final. The players and their management team of Mr. Crowdle, Ms. Browne and Mr. Goff are to be warmly congratulated on the magnificent achievement of getting so far in the competition and on capturing a Leinster title on the way.
Mock examinations
3rd and 6th year students will be pleased to see the end of Mock examinations today. We say a particular word of thanks to the organising teacher, Mr. Cummins, for ensuring that the examinations went so smoothly over the past two weeks.

Kayleigh Moran to represent Leinster in the All Ireland GAA Scór Competition
Best wishes to Kayleigh Moran, TY student, who will represent Leinster this weekend in the All Ireland GAA Scór Competition in Castlebar. Kayleigh recently won the Leinster final at a sold-out National Opera House with competitors from all over the province descending on the venue for an afternoon of dancing, singing, recitation, music and acting.
Basketball Presentations
The Junior and Senior basketball teams were recently presented with new kits from Killeens Pharmacy and SE2.
Áine Mc Elwee c/o Killeens pharmacy (Eric Jenkins) presented the Junior Kit to the 2nd years.
Pat Bruen c/o SE2 (Technology & Services company in Waterford) presented the Senior Kit.
