Rugby Final:
Our senior rugby team will take on Loreto College, Mullingar in the final of the Leinster Schools Cup next Wednesday, 20 March in Donnybrook, Dublin. We wish them the best of luck!

Launch of Envy:
It was a great honour for members of the Loreto staff to attend the launch of the movie ‘Envy’ in Wexford Arts Centre on Thursday, 29 February 2024. The film was made by Bare Cheek Productions with the financial help and support of the Arts Council through a Project Award and by the ongoing support of the Arts Department of Wexford County Council and the Arts Centre. The film was recorded here in Loreto and features a number of our students.
The gestation of the plot and characters came from a six-month workshop period by the writer and director with Transition Year students in Loreto. The students came up with the ideas and, through devising scenes and situations, a screenplay based on their work was created. Wexford native, Wallis Bird came on board and composed the score and local filmmaker Michael Benson looked after the cinematography and editing. ‘Envy’ has been entered into Film Festivals throughout Europe and in New York and has already won the lead actress, Grace McCormack (5th Year) a Best Young Actress award at the Milan Film Festival. We commend the students for their superb acting and congratulate Grace on her award.

Academic Awards Ceremony:
We congratulate all past and present pupils who received awards on Thursday, 29 February. These awards were distributed based on strong in-school exam results and outstanding state exam results. We thank Ms. Foley for organising the event and the Loreto Parents’ Council for supplying the refreshments afterwards.

Student Enterprise Awards:
We congratulate TY students Keelin O’Reilly, Rebecca Warren, Sreeda Radhakrishnan, Gráinne Sinnott and Isha Praveen Kumar on winning the Student Enterprise Merit Award for their mini-company Anipals, an organic homemade dog treats company.
We commend the other groups who represented the school at the final – Dubits (Lauryn Murphy, Katie Parker, Aoife Walsh, Catherine O’ Reilly and Martina Valencia), Croc ‘n’ Roll (Keelin Gallagher, Orla Quirke, Saoirse Davey and April O’ Kennedy) and Mug Bakes (Áine Fortune, Rachel Cullen, Phoebe Coman, Ella Martin and Maria Coone).
