20th March 2026

Congratulations to Lèa Bolger on being recognised at the Wexford Borough Civic Reception Awards last Thursday evening in the County Council buildings for her local, Leinster, All-Ireland and international achievements in 2025, representing Bree AC, Loreto Secondary School, her parish, county and country.

Lèa represented Loreto Secondary School at the SIAB Championships in Birmingham last July, following her excellent results at the Schools National Finals.

Congratulations to past student Emma O’Leary, who is studying HC in Science in Health Science with Occupational Therapy Studies at ATU, who received a sports scholarship for camogie.

Huge congratulations to our equestrian teams who competed on Sunday. Our novice teams placed first and third on the day, while our open teams placed first and fourth.

Not to mention, our novice team’s performances throughout the year helped clinch victory in the Wexford Equestrian Regional League Final for the fifth year in a row. Congratulations to all involved. Roll on the national final in two weeks’ time.

Well done to our GAA Future Leaders class who have successfully completed their Refereeing Course!

Over the past week, the girls took part in the Young Whistlers Course, facilitated by Wexford Camogie. A big thank you to Justin Heffernan for delivering the course, Wexford Camogie for providing the programme and Wexford Credit Union for sponsoring the girls with their one-of-a-kind jerseys.

We would also like to thank Denise Kane, who visited the class on Wednesday to share her refereeing journey, answer questions and provide valuable insight and advice.

We can’t wait to see how these girls flourish in their refereeing careers!

Congratulations to our Junk Kouture Regional Finalists — Clutch Kouture (Niamh Doyle, Zara Hickey, and Charlotte Gorman) and Global Glamour (Jessica Dennehy and Sophia Doyle).

Both teams were a wonderful credit to Loreto Secondary School, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and innovation. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to supporting Global Glamour at the National Finals in May!

On Tuesday last week representatives from the Inclusion Committee attended Multicultural Day at Presentation Wexford. There was a wonderful display of cultures along with informative presentations on research the students had carried out on multiculturalism in their school. Many thanks to Ms Carr and her students for a brilliant day

TY students celebrated International Pi Day (March 14th — 3/14) with a fascinating presentation on the history of π from Mr. Broderick. The celebration continued with some delicious “pi” treats, baked yesterday by Ms. Howlin and her TY students.

It was a very fun, informative, and tasty event. After all, learning about π is always irrationally enjoyable — and the treats were certainly as endless as the digits of π!

Mr. Broderick held a Pi Memory Contest. Congratulations to our winners:

Junior Cycle:

Ellie O’Rourke – 162 digits ✅ (overall winner!)

Ava Lily Murphy – 57 digits

Sophie Turner – 43 digits

Senior Cycle:

Molly Kearney – 85 digits

Keelin O’Reilly – 81 digits

Evelyn Walker – 31 digits

Well done to everyone who took part, and a special round of applause for Ellie O’Rourke for her outstanding achievement of reciting 162 digits of pi!

Well done to everyone involved for making the day such a sweet success.
