Congratulations to Izzy McDermot who, competing in a mixed class of 30 drivers, has won the first female in the 2025 Tillotson T4 Senior National Karting Championship.

Students and staff were thrilled when she arrived into school today with her fabulous trophy why her peers in her Agricultural Science class gave her a well-deserved standing ovation. Congratulations Izzy from everyone in Loreto Wexford.

Pippa Fortune in 1.1 took part in an International Acro Gymnastics comp recently in Maia, Porto in Portugal, scoring a new international pair partnership PB in Balance and the team receiving a trophy for third place overall. Congratulations to Pippa!

The Transition Year Horticulture class planted pumpkin plants last Friday, grown from seeds saved during pumpkin carving back in October.

Congratulations to Tores Bamisile, first year, Kate Cousins, second year and Caoimhe Nolan third year who was awarded Student of the Month for February. Congratulations also to the following 3rd years who achieved their Bronze Cards in recognition for achieving over 10 VSWare positive points. Caitlin Quirke, Holly Quirke, Anna Roche, Kayla Power, Sophie Redmond and Grace Power. Well done Girls!

A big congratulations to Lauren Finn, Abigail Hegarty and Tori Berry who were successful at the recent county enterprise awards. Their mini-company ‘Picture Perfect’ picked up the ‘One To Watch’ award in the senior category. A great first step in their business career. Well done girls!

A winning start to the Leinster championship on Friday for our under-14 footballers (Picture 1).

The girls had a convincing win over Presentation Wexford in their first group game and kicked some excellent scores throughout.

We now have our second group game to look forward to in two weeks’ time away to St. Mary’s New Ross where a win will take us through to the knockout stages.

Students who completed their Junior Cycle in 2025 received the Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA) last Friday. This certificate records all of the learning completed across the three years of the programme both inside and outside of the classroom. Well done to all the students for their great work

We were delighted to welcome @PresWex and St Mary’s Secondary School, New Ross to our school on Friday for our Multicultural Fashion Show and Fair. Well done to all the amazing multicultural volunteers who represented their cultures excellently. More pictures on our facebook page.

Our equestrian team had a clean sweep at the weekend at the Colaiste Abbain hosted leg of the Equestrian Interschools Ireland league. Our open team took home first place and our novice teams placed first and second respectively. Congratulations to all our students who won and placed in their individual competitions also. Well done to all involved.

Yesterday our School of Sanctuary Ambassadors were interviewed by Alan Cocoran from South East Radio. Isha, Yosra and Haya spoke all about the success of Multicultural Week last week and highlighted our theme; ‘Tackling Misinformation & Disinformation on Immigration’. Tune in to ‘The Morning Mix’ on South East Radio today between 10am and 12pm to hear the interview. Well done, girls!

Congratulations to our sixth year Maths team who competed in the Team Maths Quiz in Enniscorthy last week. They gave an excellent performance and were very unlucky to narrowly miss out on a placing. Well done to the team!

Congratulations to our super Head Girl Maria Coone who was 13th in the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country on Saturday. Maria ran 3500m in Belfast with a sprint finish to beat off some of her rivals!! Well done Maria on your last Cross Country performance for the school.

Yesterday, our fifth and sixth year LCA students attended the Jobs Festival at the Talbot Hotel. During the event, they had the opportunity to meet potential employers and explore the apprenticeships available.

The students found the experience very worthwhile, and it helped broaden their outlook on the many career opportunities that may be available to them in the future.

Kick off the St Patrick’s Day weekend with a show you absolutely don’t want to miss! Full of comedy, original stories, and tales as old as time, there will be no bad luck on this Friday 13th!

Ms. Healy’s second year Science class recently carried out an investigation titled “How Clean Is Our School?”

Using nutrient agar Petri dishes, students cultured microbes from a variety of everyday surfaces around the school to see what might be growing there!
