Parents’ Council AGM

The annual general meeting of the Parents’ Council will take place on Monday, 5th October at 18.30 in Loreto Secondary School.

If you would like to get involved, have your voice heard or simply attend on the night, you are more than welcome to come along.

Class of 1966

On Friday last, we were delighted to welcome eight members of the Class of 1966 back to Loreto Secondary School, Wexford for a special reunion.

The group met with members of management and our Head Girls before enjoying a guided tour of our new school building. It was a wonderful opportunity to reminisce, reconnect and hear their memories of life at Loreto, Wexford in the 1960s.

This year, Loreto, Wexford celebrates its 160th anniversary since the first school was opened in Wexford town. It was particularly special to welcome back members of our school community whose own Loreto journey began six decades ago.

Thank you to our Class of 1966 for returning to Loreto and sharing your memories with us. We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the school and its history through your experiences.

Rising Talent

Best of luck to sisters Amy and Aoife Griffith, who will proudly represent the Irish Pony Club at the Nations Cup of Eventing at Osberton International in the UK this weekend.

Amy will compete on the Irish team in the 2* 110 competition, while Aoife will represent Ireland in the 1* 105 competition. We wish them every success.

UCD Guidance Trip

On Tuesday, our 5th Year students had the opportunity to visit University College Dublin for an informative and engaging campus tour.

Students attended a presentation exploring the wide range of courses, clubs and societies available at UCD, giving them an insight into the many opportunities university life has to offer. They then enjoyed a guided tour of the campus, visiting a wide variety of the university’s excellent facilities and getting a feel for student life at UCD.

2nd Year Science

This week, our 2nd Year Science students explored gas exchange in the alveoli through modelling activities and investigated the important link between the lungs and the heart.
