Multicultural Week
This week marked the start of our annual Multicultural Week celebrations.
On Tuesday some 1st year classes received their PowerPoint presentation on India led by Avril Allwin. The other 1st years received this later in the week along with a presentation on South Africa led by Isha Amodu. A special delivery also occurred on Tuesday! It was an exciting and memorable day for students in Miss Byrne’s 1st Year CSPE class as they received their very first letters from their pen pals in Zambia!
Through our international pen pal exchange with students from St. Patrick’s Secondary School, our class has been sharing stories about school life, hobbies, culture, and everyday experiences. The classroom was full of excitement as envelopes were opened — there were huge smiles, lots of curiosity, and fantastic discussions sparked by the letters received.

Many thanks to Denis Whelan from Wexford Local Development who led the workshop on ‘Immigration on Tuesday: Tackling Misinformation & Disinformation’ with TY students. We were also delighted to welcome School of Sanctuary Ambassadors Olga Rai and Mummy Mokgalo who shared their migrant stories.

On Wednesday we welcomed Denis Whelan from Wexford Local Development who met TY students for an Immigration Workshop on ‘Tackling Misinformation & Disinformation’ which is our theme this year. Denis was also accompanied by School of Sanctuary Ambassadors who shared their stories. Ms C Culleton & Ms King ran a Multicultural Café for the last 20 minutes of lunch from Mon – Thurs. Students had the opportunity to try drinks and snacks from other cultures. Many thanks to our Multicultural Volunteers for sharing their tasty snacks and teaching us about their cultures.

Minor Soccer
Leinster Cup Semi Final bound.
Well done to our Minor Soccer team defeated Loreto Kilkenny today 1-0 in the Leinster Cup Quarter Final.
Amy Hatchell scored the only goal of the game early in the first half and Mia Wright came agonisingly close to doubling the lead after a stunning individual run.
Loreto Kilkenny began to dominate possession but were ultimately held scoreless thanks to some expert defending with Charlotte Stafford and Theresa Martin leading the line.
A fantastic result for Loreto Wexford with excellent performances all over the pitch. Well done to all involved and best of luck in the Leinster Semi Final
