Senior Spanish Madrid Trip
Last week our senior Spanish students arrived in Madrid and got straight into exploring. They began day one with a visit to the magnificent Royal Palace of Madrid, the beautiful Catedral de Santa Maria in Real de la Almudena and the Sabatini Gardens before enjoying some free time to explore the city.
Day two was a day packed with culture, history and unforgettable experiences! The morning saw them visit the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, the home of Real Madrid, exploring the stands, dugouts and pitch. They then headed to the Prado Museum to admire works by great artists including Raphael and Rembrandt.
Day three led them to the Parque Warner Madrid. The Spanish students had a roller-coaster of a day, enjoying a variety of thrilling rides and watching the parades. However not everyone was having quite so much fun during the IT show, where some were left traumatised after being chased by Pennywise! A day full of thrills, laughs and a few screams!
The final day began in the historic town of Toledo before travelling to the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The long journey home began then, reaching Loreto at 3am. A special thanks to Ms Kelly for organising a fabulous trip. She put in many hours to ensure the trip went smoothly and all who travelled had a wonderful experience thanks to her efforts.

Opening School Mass
Last Thursday we celebrated our first Mass of the school year. It was a wonderful occasion as the whole school community came together in prayer and reflection. This year’s theme ‘Cherishing Our History’, was especially meaningful as we celebrate 160 years in Wexford.
Here are some beautiful pieces of artwork created by our talented students to mark this special milestone. A heartfelt thank you to our chaplain, Fr. Jim Fegan, for celebrating another wonderful Mass with us.

Halloween Fancy Dress
Yesterday was a spooky day around the school for our Halloween Fancy Dress Day with students fundraising for Temple Street. Students arrived in all manner of frightening costumes, giving staff and fellow students quite a scare. There were plenty of spooky sights and creepy characters to be seen as everyone got into the Halloween spirit!

This week’s Sporting Events
Another great win for our Junior ladies’ footballers versus St. Wolstan’s, Celbridge as they made it three wins from three to top their Leinster championship group.
Having faced the breeze in the first-half, our girls held a nice nine point lead at the break. We then pushed on in the second-half to come away with a 4-13 to 1-09 win.
Well done girls!

Commiserations to our minor soccer team who lost 3-1 against St. Raphaela’s, Stillorgan in Minor Cup A.

Our first years welcomed Loreto, Kilkenny to Wexford for a friendly match. Well done to all involved.

LCAs Busy at Work
Our amazing fifth-year LCA students were busy this morning, selling various stationary items in the foyer and showing their fantastic entrepreneurial spirit.
