School news in brief
- Work on our new school at Pembroke Hill is progressing very well. Pile foundations are being worked on at present as well as site clearance. It is expected that foundations will be poured very soon after which it will not be long before the new school will be seen rising from the ground. Regular meetings are being held between the builders, project managers and the Board of Management.
- Applications are now being accepted for our 1st year classes in September 2017. The closing date for applications is 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October 2016.
- Study Skills talks are being held in the school next week: for parents at 7.00 p.m. on Monday, 3 October and for 2nd year students on Tuesday, 4 October.
- A Careers Night will be held for all 5th and 6th year students on Thursday, 6 October in the Talbot Hotel, beginning at 7.00 p.m. and closing at 9.00 p.m. Sincere thanks are extended to all volunteer speakers on the night and, in particular, to organising teachers, Ms. Foley and Ms. Kelly, as well as to Barbara Foley of the Parents’ Association.
- The school will be closed to students on Friday, 7 October as staff will be involved in professional development training.
- Copies of our 150th anniversary book, “Lasting Values”, are on sale in the school at €20 each.
