School of Sanctuary
On Thursday, 18 May, we hosted a delegation from the School of Sanctuary. They visited the school to meet with staff and students in order to get a sense of the ethos and atmosphere in the school. While we will have a full report next week, we are delighted to announce that we are now recognised as Champion School of Sanctuary. This is a tremendous honour, and the title recognises the work of so many in helping to create a safe, warm and open school environment. For more information on what constitutes a School of Sanctuary, please visit their website here: Home – Schools of Sanctuary Ireland (cityofsanctuary.org)
Sports Updates
As the school year draws to a close, some of our sports stars continue to bring home medals.
- Congratulations to Lea Bolger who came first in the junior hammer and fifth in the junior hurdles in the Leinster Schools Athletics.
- At the same event, Maria Conne won the gold medal in the 2km walk.
- Our young golfers continue to hone their skills through their weekly lessons with the next step being a visit to Wexford Golf Club.
Transition Year
Our Transition Year students have had an incredibly busy year. Please visit their dedicated page here to view almost 100 different reports of their activities. I commend Ms. Zimmermann, Mr. Broderick and the Website Committee for their work throughout the year.
Most recently, the 4.1 class hosted the Colour Run in aid of Friends of Wexford Hospital and the WSPCA. While the final total is still awaited, this event has raised over €5,000 so far!
