Since 2017, the school has offered Technology as a subject. Recently, we were delighted to hear that four of our students had been selected for prizes based on their outstanding results at junior and senior level. Awarded by the Engineering and Technology Teachers Association (ETTA) at the Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Sligo, Brónagh Boggan was recognised for her strong result in the 2023 Junior Cycle exam. In addition, Hannah M. Kehoe, Ailbhe Cullinane and Niamh Bates (all Leaving Certificate 2024) were recognised for their outstanding results, with particular praise being put on their project work. We thank Mr. E. Cummins for his work with the students throughout.

Christmas Market:

Festive Cheer Meets Student Innovation at the Wexford Schools’ Christmas Market

Date: Saturday, December 7th
Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Venue: Loreto Secondary School, Wexford

This December, Loreto Secondary School will transform into a vibrant holiday marketplace, bringing together the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of students from Loreto and neighbouring schools for the much-anticipated Wexford Schools’ Christmas Market.

The event promises not only to delight shoppers with an array of unique, handcrafted gifts and festive treats but also to make a meaningful difference. Proceeds from donations, raffles, and refreshments will go directly to the Wexford Women’s Refuge, adding a charitable heart to the holiday hustle.

Throughout the year, students participating in Enterprise and Mini Company programmes have poured their talents into developing a wide variety of products—from artisan decorations to homemade goodies. The market is an ideal opportunity for attendees to discover thoughtful, locally-made items while supporting the innovation of these young entrepreneurs.

In addition to browsing the many creative stalls, visitors can enjoy a festive atmosphere brimming with holiday spirit. A special raffle, made possible thanks to the generosity of local sponsors, and a bustling refreshments stall will enhance the experience, making this an event to remember for the whole community.

Don’t miss the chance to check off your holiday shopping list while supporting local talent and a vital cause. Join us at Loreto Secondary School on Saturday, December 7th, and celebrate the magic of the season with Wexford’s bright and ambitious students.

We would like to thank the sponsors of our raffle in aid of Wexford Women’s Refuge which will also take place at the event: Clayton Whites Hotel, Supervalu – St. Aidan’s, Scúp Gelato, Barkers, Salon Diva, Daybreak – North Main Street, Michael O’Leary and Company, Wexford Book Centre, Salon FA, Richie Doyle Family Butchers, Fortunes Pharmacy, Arc Cinema, Natural Health Store, Regency Gold, Jaspers Restaurant, Shaws, Sam McCauleys, Green Acres, SpecSavers.
