The Transition Year students participated in a Mellon Educate trip to South Africa, where they worked on construction projects in Yomelela. During the trip, they also engaged in literacy tutoring, supported a feeding programme and took part in both home and school visits, gaining valuable insight into the local community and culture.

A big well done to our under-14 Ladies’ Footballers who have reached the final of their Leinster championship following a big win over Coláiste Abhainn Rí today in Loreto.

Our girls kicked some outstanding football and racked up a big score on their way to a comfortable victory.

We now take on St. Joseph’s Navan or St. Mary’s Edenderry in the final with the fixture details to be confirmed in the coming days.

Last Thursday the Junk Kouture classes put on an impressive fashion show for third and fourth years, showcasing their creative designs made entirely from recycled materials. It carried an important message about sustainability reminding everyone of the value of reusing materials. It also gave the third years inspiration for next year. For more designs see our facebook page.

On Wednesday our TY Future Leaders hosted an incredible Primary School GAA Blitz

We were delighted to welcome Scoil Mhuire, Mercy and St Iberius to Loreto for a fantastic day that began with a school tour, followed by LGFA/Football and Camogie/Hurling matches, along with plenty of fun activities on the Astro pitch.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part – it was a brilliant day filled with teamwork, energy and smiles all around

Our TY Future Leaders also organised a tuck shop, with all proceeds going to Childhood Cancer Ireland

This event marks the end of a very successful year for the TY Future Leaders class, and we couldn’t be prouder of all they’ve achieved. The future is bright – well done girls!

On Tuesday, Ms. Skelton’s and Mr. Murphy’s/Ms. Byrne’s Transition Year Enterprise classes had the pleasure of presenting a cheque for €1,275 to the Wexford Women’s Refuge raised through their successful Wexford Schools Christmas Fair.

A huge well done to everyone involved and thank you to all who supported.

Last Friday our Transition Year students took part in the annual Aoife Daly Rugby Tournament, held in honour of past student Aoife Daly, who sadly passed away while she was in fourth year.

Aoife was a passionate rugby, GAA and hockey supporter who always carried a smile on her face and was extremely popular among staff and students. Her spirit and enthusiasm continue to inspire all who knew her.

Continuing a valued tradition, our students competed in a tag rugby tournament with St Peter’s Transition Year students, with the winning team proudly presented with the Aoife Daly Cup.

The day was a fitting tribute to Aoife’s memory, marked by teamwork, respect and a shared love of sport.

A huge well done to our First-Year soccer team who secured a thrilling victory over Loreto Balbriggan recently, winning 4–3 on penalties!

A fantastic performance from the team, who now progress to the Leinster semi-final. Best of luck in the next round!
