Lunch from 11.45 to 12.45
Students will report to their base rooms at 12.45 and await a call over the intercom to then proceed, with their class teacher, to Clonard Church for the Carol Service that will begin at 13.30.
Students may leave for home from Clonard Church at the end of the service. Those returning to school are asked to do so under teacher supervision. Road crossings will be supervised on the journey to and from the church.

Random Acts Of Kindness Week – report by Sinéad Hegarty and Maeve Buckley
The whole school participated in Random Acts of Kindness Week from 18 to 22 November last. This is a weeklong annual event organised by the Students Council, which promotes kindness within the student body.
On Monday and Friday morning, students were greeted at the door by the 3rd year members of the students’ council with a sweet and a smile. In doing this we hoped to brighten the students mornings as they came to school.
Prior to Random Acts of Kindness Week, each student was assigned a “secret friend” within their base class group. Students were encouraged to perform a small, kind gesture for their secret friend each day, whether it was a kind note, a smile in the hallway or a chocolate bar stuck to their locker. This created a sense of anticipation and excitement within the students and was enjoyed by all.
When students arrived at school on Wednesday morning they found sticky notes with a positive affirmation stuck sporadically on lockers around the school by the 1st and 2nd year members of the students’ council. This was a nice surprise for students to unexpectedly find. Bingo over the intercom also began on Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, the 6th year members of the council gave each student a bingo card as they walked into school. Four numbers were announced over the intercom each day until Friday when winners were awarded with prizes. Both staff and students received great enjoyment from this activity.
On the final day of the week, a very special Just Dance took place in the P.E hall at 1:30p.m. This was organised by the 4th and 5th year members of the council. After every dance, a prize was awarded to the student who put in the best effort and was having the most fun. There was a great turnout and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Overall, Random Acts of Kindness Week was a great success and we feel that the aim of the week was fulfilled.
Irish dancing Leinster Championships 2019 – report by Hollie (4.1) and Katie Audsley (1.1)
My sister (Katie) and I (Hollie) are dancers from the Sullivan Academy of Irish Dancing and on Sunday, 10 November, we travelled to City North hotel, Meath for the Leinster Championships. We left Wexford early that morning and set off on our long journey. We arrived in Meath around 10am and were overwhelmed by the large crowd. Left, right and centre….wigs, makeup, costumes and stressed mothers.
With no time to waste, we immediately began doing our makeup. Next, wigs were prepared and put on. We didn’t know what we had signed up for – the weight of the wigs on our heads was a new feeling for sure! Our favourite part followed – school costumes, eye catching glitter and bright coloured blue bows.
We waited anxiously to go on stage. Our team knew the dances very well due to months of practising. The loud cheers of the audience and vibration of the traditional music flowed underground. We waited side stage to dance, and hung tight for the go ahead to walk on stage. Everyone felt the nerves and tried to not blank once they stepped on stage. We danced our hearts out once the music began. The relief after dancing is amazing because you know your hard work paid off.
We were on edge because we had to wait on results to be announced. I am delighted to say Katie placed 4th in Leinster with her team! My team placed 2nd and we are now representing Leinster for
Worlds 2020! We were filled with joy along with our teacher, Sarah. It was an amazing experience to say the least and we cannot wait for the new year to set off on another journey.
