Mid-term break

The school will close this evening for a well-earned mid-term break.

The half-term that has come to an end has been an exceptionally busy one. We look back with pride on the wonderful celebrations that marked the school’s 150th anniversary celebrations in September. We rejoice with our Leaving and Junior Certificate students who received such outstanding results in August and September respectively. We thank our students and teachers for participating in and organising so many co- and extra-curricular activities in recent months, many of which have been reported on this website. Most importantly, we acknowledge the goodwill and great spirit in the school that have allowed us all to go about our daily tasks with no small measure of pride and enjoyment in what we do.

Sadly, however, matters beyond our control at national level have led to industrial action that has begun to have an impact on the school in recent days. We hope that the ASTI and Department of Education and Skills will resolve their differences as a matter of priority so that schools all around the country can conduct business as normal after mid-term. Updates on this matter will continue to be provided in the letters to families section of our website.

Wishing everyone a very pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable mid-term break.

Billy O’ Shea,

Principal.
