Well done to our Minor Soccer team who beat Presentation Kilkenny 3-1 in the Leinster Cup yesterday at Forth Celtic.

Éibhín O’Dwyer and Amy Hatchell both scored in the first half to give Loreto a well deserved lead in miserable conditions.

Presentation Kilkenny got a goal back midway through the second half from the penalty spot but Mia Wright restored Loreto’s lead to confirm a place in the Quarter Final of the Leinster Cup.

Excellent performance from all and best of luck in the Leinster Quarter Final

Well done to our Senior Soccer team who played out a 2-2 draw against the Presentation Wexford in the last round of the league on Wednesday

Loreto took the lead late into the first half as captain Aoife McEldowney expertly powered home a free kick from the edge of the box. But Presentation Wexford piled on the pressure in the second half and scored 2 goals in quick succession effectively knocking Loreto out of the final.

But throughout the game our girls should great character and determination and with 10 minutes left Isabelle Redmond struck home a shot to level the game and send Loreto through to the final.

Fantastic performances from both the Loreto and the Presentation and well done to both teams on reaching the final.

Our First Year team and Minor team both played the Presentation Wexford last week in the final stages of their league campaigns.

Our First Year team battled hard in tough conditions and earned a 0-0 draw.

Our Minor team put on an outstanding performance and defeated the Presentation 3-0.

Well done to all involved and best of luck in the last round of the league

In the first year soccer match on Wednesday Loreto Wexford played St Mary’s, New Ross. The girls performed well in very tough conditions but were beaten by a strong St Mary’s side. A good effort from all involved.

Yesterday, the greatest fifth-year class of all time was in a somber mood as we said Arrivederci to Emilia and Auf Wiedersehen to Jule.

These two students made a massive impact on our class as they prepare to return home to Italy and Germany. They brought a wealth of unique knowledge, teaching us about their countries’ history and sharing insights we wouldn’t find in any textbook.

From (almost) getting the History teacher sacked to providing endless laughs, Emilia and Jule brought energy, positivity and unforgettable memories to our classroom.

They will be truly missed, and we wish them every success in whatever comes next

On Tuesday we hosted our annual Subject Choice Fair, where third-year and fourth-year students had the opportunity to speak directly with fifth and sixth-year students about the subjects available at senior cycle in Loreto Wexford. This peer-to-peer approach gave younger students valuable insight into each subject from a student perspective, helping them to make informed and confident decisions about their future subject choices.
