6th year students to attend Mental Health Event
‘Vent in the Tent’, presented by Ask
Friday, 12 October
Spiegeltent, Wexford
Adolescent and early years of adulthood are a time of great change with Leaving Certificate exams, starting college, new friends, starting a new job, leaving home. For many, these can be very exciting times and for others these changes can bring anxiety, stress and mental health difficulties.
In line with World Mental Health Day on 10 October, which this year focuses on “young people and mental health in a changing world”, the ask campaign is very excited and proud to be bringing a very unique mental health forum to 6th year students of Wexford. We look forward to presenting the students with a unique and informative event which has one core purpose; to show these amazing students that conversation is key to dealing with any mental health difficulty and that mental health can and should be part of everyday conversation.

Equestrian Update
Congratulations to Taylor Peare (2nd Year) who recently qualified to represent Ireland in the 133 Working Hunter Pony competition. As a result, Taylor travelled to the INEC Arena in Birmingham last week. As Ireland’s only representative, she performed extremely well on the youngest pony in the field. We congratulate her on this excellent achievement and we hope the experience will help her to progress even further over time.
International Day of the Girl – report by Student Council PRO, Krishna Ramesh
The Students’ Council are celebrating the International Day of the Girl on 11 October. Competitions will be held on Thursday during breaks and lunch involving famous girls and women throughout history.
This is a day, set up by the UN, dedicated to girls (who aren’t women yet) all around the world who are challenging the status quo and going against all odds to achieve their potential. We felt it is important to acknowledge this day as, in Loreto, we are in a school of 780 girls who have yet to show their own potentials.
